If you’ve lived in Bend long enough, you know what a rough winter does to a house. The freeze and thaw cycle out here is no joke. One morning your siding looks fine. By spring, you’ve got warped boards, cracked panels, and moisture working its way behind the walls. That’s usually when the phone calls start.

Cascade Crest Exteriors has been answering those calls across Central Oregon for years. We work with homeowners in every corner of Bend, from the newer builds off Brookswood Boulevard to the older craftsman homes in the Old Bend neighborhood near Drake Park. People around Sunriver, Sisters, and Redmond call us too. When it comes to siding contractors in Bend, Oregon, we’ve seen pretty much every situation a Central Oregon winter can throw at a house.

This page is here to help you figure out what you actually need, whether that’s a full siding replacement, a few repairs, or a fresh coat of paint to protect what you already have. No pressure, just straight talk.

    Sound familiar?

What most homeowners in Bend are dealing with

Bend sits at around 3,600 feet elevation. The sun here is intense, summers are dry and hot, and winters bring hard freezes. That combination is rough on exterior materials. A lot of the homes we look at have siding that’s faded, cracked, or starting to pull away from the wall because the original install wasn’t designed for this climate.

Here are the most common things we hear from homeowners:

"My siding looks chalky and dull no matter how much I clean it."

That's UV damage. It happens fast in Central Oregon.

"There's a soft spot in the wall near the window."

That's usually moisture getting behind old or failing siding. It needs attention before the damage spreads into the framing.

"We want to sell the house in a year and need it to look good."

Curb appeal matters and a fresh siding job or exterior paint can add real value before a listing.

"We just bought a home off Highway 20 and everything outside looks tired."

That's a pretty common call. We do a lot of work helping new homeowners bring an older property up to the standard they expected when they bought it.

    What we do

Siding contractor services in Bend, OR

When people search for siding contractors in Bend Oregon, they’re usually looking for someone who knows the local conditions and won’t disappear after the job is done. That’s what we try to be.

We install, replace, and repair all the main siding types you’ll find on Central Oregon homes.

    Fiber cement siding

James Hardie fiber cement is one of the most popular choices we install in Bend. It holds up well against the freeze and thaw cycle, doesn't warp or rot, and takes paint beautifully. A lot of the newer builds in NorthWest Crossing and the Awbrey Butte area are using it. We're HardiePlank certified installers, which means the manufacturer warranty stays intact.

    LP SmartSide

This is a treated engineered wood product that looks like real wood but resists moisture, insects, and impact better than traditional wood siding. It's a solid choice if you like the warmth of wood aesthetics but want something built for the Bend climate. We've installed a good amount of it on homes in the Shevlin Commons and Awbrey Heights areas.

    Vinyl siding

Vinyl is still a smart choice for a lot of homeowners because it's affordable, durable, and low maintenance. The newer vinyl products are way better than what was being installed 20 years ago. If you've got an older vinyl job that's cracking or fading, we can match and replace sections or do a full re-side depending on what makes sense for your budget.

    Siding repair

There are a lot of beautiful older homes in Bend, especially around the Westside and downtown areas, that were built with real cedar or pine siding. We repair and replace wood siding on these homes regularly. We know how to match profiles so the repair doesn't stick out.

    Exterior painting

Not every job needs a full replacement. Sometimes a section of siding gets damaged by a falling tree branch, a ladder, or just age. We do targeted siding repair jobs across Bend and surrounding areas. Honest assessment, fair pricing, no upsell if you don't need it.

    Full exterior care

Exterior painting contractor in Bend, Oregon

A lot of siding companies don’t paint. We do, and it matters.

Paint is the first line of defense on any exterior. It seals the surface, protects against UV, and keeps moisture from sneaking into seams and fasteners. If you get new siding installed but the paint job is bad, you’ve just shortened the life of your investment.

We are a full exterior painting contractor in Bend, Oregon. Our paint crews are trained specifically for exterior work in high-altitude, high-UV environments like Central Oregon.

Why Exterior Paint in Bend Is Different

At this elevation, paint breaks down faster than it would in coastal or low-elevation climates. The UV radiation up here is stronger and the temperature swings from summer afternoon to fall morning are dramatic. We use paints that are formulated to hold up in these conditions, and we prep every surface properly before we touch a brush or roller to it.

Bad prep is the number one reason paint jobs fail early. We scrape, sand, prime, and caulk before we ever open a paint can. It takes longer. It costs a little more. But the job lasts.

    What We Paint

Siding, trim, fascia, soffits, window frames, garage doors, fences, and decks. If it’s on the outside of your house, we can paint it. We work on single family homes, multi-unit properties, and commercial buildings across Bend and Central Oregon.

    Color Consultation

A lot of our customers aren’t sure what color to go with. That’s normal. We offer color consultations and can pull samples to help you find something that fits the neighborhood and complements your landscaping. We’ve done enough homes in areas like the Old Farm District and Bend River Promenade area to know what reads well in Central Oregon light.

    How we work

What the Whole Process Looks Like

A lot of homeowners are nervous about starting a siding or painting project because they’ve heard horror stories. Contractor shows up, takes a deposit, disappears for two weeks. Or the job gets done fast but nothing is cleaned up and there are gaps nobody caught until the first rain. Here’s how we work.

    Step 1

    Free estimate

We come out and look at the whole exterior, not just the part you called about. Sometimes there's something else going on that you'd want to know about before we start. We'll tell you.

    Step 2

    Written proposal

It says exactly what we're doing, what materials we're using, and what it costs. No surprise line items after the fact.

    Step 3

    Scheduled around you

We know you have kids, dogs, work, and a whole life that doesn't stop because we're working on your house. We communicate about the schedule and show up when we say we will.

    Step 4

    Final walkthrough

After the job is done, we walk the property with you. If anything isn't right, we fix it before we close out the project.

    Why us

A Central Oregon company, not a franchise crew

We’re a Central Oregon company. We live here, we work here, and we care how the homes in this community look and hold up. When you hire us, you’re not getting a franchise crew from out of state. You’re getting people who drove past your neighborhood on the way to work this morning.

    Common questions

How do I know if I need full siding replacement or just repairs?

How do I know if I need full siding replacement or just repairs?

We look at a few things. How much of the siding has failed? Is there moisture damage behind the surface? How old is the material? If less than 20 to 30 percent of the siding is in bad shape and there’s no structural moisture damage, repair is usually the smarter move. If the whole thing is degraded or the substrate is compromised, replacement makes more sense. We’ll give you an honest answer either way.

Late spring through early fall is ideal. Paint needs moderate temperatures and low humidity to cure properly. Siding installs in winter are possible but slower. We book up fast in summer so it pays to call in March or April to get on the schedule.

A full re-side on a standard single story home usually takes five to seven days depending on complexity. A paint job on the same home is typically two to four days. Repairs can often be done in a single day.

Yes. We paint and install siding on commercial buildings throughout Bend and Central Oregon. If you manage a rental property, small commercial building, or multi-unit housing, give us a call.
